The Eastern Frontier — Arunachal Pradesh
What this trip feels like
There are some trips you take to see a place. And then there are trips where the road itself becomes the adventure. This is the latter. For 7 days, we’ll travel deep into Arunachal Pradesh — winding through some of the most dramatic mountain roads in India, crossing high-altitude passes, stopping at remote villages, chasing waterfalls, exploring border landscapes and sleeping in simple mountain stays surrounded by silence. From the icy landscapes of Sela Pass to the surreal roads towards Bumla, from the blue waters of Sangetsar Lake to the valleys of Dirang, Jang and Sangti, this is a journey built around the places you see between the destinations too. And then there’s our STT Special — a full day exploring the high-altitude borderlands, taking us beyond the usual Tawang itinerary and into landscapes that feel almost otherworldly, including a hidden high-altitude lake most tourists never hear about, let alone reach. Expect early mornings, long drives, roadside chai, shared meals, unpredictable weather, basic but beautiful stays, bonfires, music, laughter and plenty of time spent staring out of a car window wondering how a place can look this unreal. This isn’t a luxury holiday. It isn’t a rushed sightseeing tour. And it definitely isn’t a checklist trip. It’s a backpacking-style mountain road trip designed for people who want to slow down, explore a little deeper, and experience the Northeast with a bunch of like-minded travellers. Raw mountains. Epic roads. Remote landscapes. Real connection.
